Founder of Eternally Taught
Eternally Taught provides classes for young people ages 8-16, that strive to create balanced characters. Children who are both highly intelligent and unreservedly kind. The classes were conceived to help Christian families around the UK who are increasingly opting for homeschooling. Eternally Taught exists to provide full-curriculum support for Mathematics and English.
Our current Students
Our students are highly curious and spiritual young persons. Some are home educated, and others are privately educated. They find joy in learning and in our methods of promoting growth through increasingly difficult problems. They do not allow themselves to be discouraged by problems they don't yet know how to solve. They remain hopeful and cheerful amidst novel problems.
Academics
It is our aim to create thinkers, and not reflectors of other men’s thoughts. While imparting subject knowledge our classes focus on developing a love for logic, reasoning and learning. We want our students to not only know what is true, but we want to empower them to discover truths for themselves.
Expert Instructors
Our instructors are consecrated christian men and women who are stars in their areas of expertise. They are long-life learners, who are themselves seeking the highest standard, mentally, physically and spiritually.
Our mission is to provide an exemplary education that will develop harmonious characters, and thinkers who will be leaders in enterprise.
We believe in order for children to reach their highest development mentally, physically and spiritually, they must have an education that harmoniously develops all three aspects of their being. The intellect must not be taxed disproportionately to the body.
Thinkers
The classes prioritise learning, thinking and problem-solving. Students will tackle increasingly difficult problems within each subject, without which the mind would weaken. Students will traverse the breadth, and height and depth of each subject.They will become so full of their subjects, so as to be capable teachers themselves.
Schedule
Our classes run in the mornings and afternoons, and a class can run up to two hours with a break in the middle. This allows for students to see something of the depth, and height and breadth of the lesson. Ideas are taught thoroughly—and thus we inspire thoroughness in our students—for it is thoroughness that builds real understanding, and flexible knowledge that can be transferred outside of the classroom.
Students are welcome to take core courses that provide a strong foundation for usefulness.
Mathematics
Our classes encourage a deep understanding of mathematics. Excitement, curiosity, discovery and responsibility, the elements that allow for real learning to occur, run through our classes. We understand that the most gratifying experience we have to offer is to push and stretch our students to achieve something that's within their abilities, but further than they've been before. Moreover, our classes emphasize problem solving, and our highest forms of thought: close reasoning and logical thinking.
Language Arts,
Language Arts develop students critical thinking, communication and problem-solving skills. Our classes draw material from some of the best programs in Adventist history, and from our present day. We believe a student will grow most when he is led to develop an inward love of thought, and an ambition to acquire knowledge.
Student teaching
Under the guidance of an experienced instructor, students discover the science of learning and teaching. They are given opportunities to teach some classes. An experience that is enriching. Responsibility strengthens character and brings new revelations of the knowledge imparted.
